Cyfres gan Academi Heddwch Cymru yw Proffiliau Heddwch, sy’n ceisio tynnu sylw at y rhai sydd wedi chwarae rhan arwyddocaol yn ymdrechion heddwch Cymru. Bydd y casgliad hwn o erthyglau byr yn cynnwys unigolion a gydnabyddir yn eang, a’r rhai a allai fod wedi cael eu hanwybyddu.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Beth yw ‘ffigur heddwch’?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n

Yn y gyfres hon, rydym yn diffinio ‘ffigwr heddwch’ fel rhywun sydd wedi ceisio gwneud y byd yn lle mwy heddychlon.<\/strong> Gallai hyn fod trwy feddygaeth fodern, diwygio cymdeithasol, dinasyddiaeth fyd-eang, brwydro yn erbyn newid hinsawdd; mae’r dulliau o ysgogi heddwch yn ddiddiwedd. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

O ran trafodaethau heddwch, mae trafodaeth yn aml ynghylch ei ddiffiniad.<\/strong> Mae gan bob unigolyn farn wahanol ar yr hyn a olygir wrth heddwch – gallai hyn fod yn absenoldeb trais<\/strong>, neu gallai person ddiffinio heddwch yn ehangach<\/strong> (fel yr ydym yn ei wneud yn Academi Heddwch Cymru). Mae hyn hefyd yn wir am ffigurau heddwch. Gall yr hyn sy’n cyfrif am heddwch i rai gymryd ffurf arall i eraill.<\/strong> Hyd yn oed yn y Beibl, mae cyfeiriadau helaeth at ‘heddwch’ a ‘gwneuthurwyr heddwch’.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Mae’r geiriau ‘heddychwr’<\/strong> a ‘ceidwad heddwch’<\/strong> yn cario cynodiadau amrywiol. Defnyddir ‘heddychwr’ yn aml mewn diplomyddiaeth, i ddisgrifio un blaid yn cynnal cysylltiadau heddychlon mewn ymgais i osgoi gwrthdaro. Mae ‘heddychwr’,<\/strong> yn ei dro, yn gyfystyr \u00e2’r Cenhedloedd Unedig.
