Peace Schools and Colleges Scheme

The Peace Education team support schools and colleges in Wales to develop peace as a holistic approach, including:

• A positive ethos based on cooperation, respect for difference and problem solving;
• Development of health and wellbeing skills which promote positive relationships and nonviolent conflict resolution;
• Learning about Wales’ rich peace heritage and its influence locally, nationally and internationally;
• Supporting learners to become peacemakers and global citizens, starting in their own school and local community.

By joining a growing network of Peace Schools and Colleges, educationalist have access to:

• A range of free resources aligned with the Welsh curriculum;
• Training events on particular aspects of peace education – e.g. health and wellbeing skills, peer mediation, critical approaches to global affairs;
• Opportunities for children and young people, such as our annual Young Peacemakers Awards;
• Links with fellow professionals to share good practice, help co-create resources and be recognised for good practice.
