Minnie James Collection

Minnie James from Dowlais, Merthyr opened Wales’ Temple of Peace on 23 November 1938, representing war bereaved mothers of Wales and the world. She had lost 3 sons, whose mementoes from the trenches – their letters, postcards and medals – she kept in her ‘box of treasures’, unearthed by her family over 80 years later and shared with the Temple Archives to tell their story.
