Temple of Peace & Health
Our home, Wales’ Temple of Peace & Health, was built as the nation’s memorial to the fallen of WW1 – gifted to the people of Wales as a centre for peacebuilding and cooperation, and venue for communities Wales-wide to build a better world.
We open doors to open minds, from hosting community events, workshops, conferences and weddings to on-location filming – every penny supporting our work.
Global Learning
The idea of global learning grew from the early 20th Century, when World Wars One and Two caused societies across the world to question how we were working alongside one another and asking how we could better understand and apply principles including equality, peace and collaboration.
Since that time, the concept of global learning has evolved to encompass a broad programme that can help us to prosper on our planet. This programme includes knowledge of the world, the skills that enable us to navigate in a constantly shifting world, and the attitudes that can be created by being able to tell our stories in empathetic communities.
At Cymru Global, our Global Learning programmes develop curiosity in safe spaces to enable us to speak confidently about the world we are part of. We build hope for the future through creative processes and partners, and we empower people and communities to build a better world.
Peace and Peacebuilding
Through participation and partnership, our Peace Education programme develops learning resources and training on peace heritage, social and emotional wellbeing, and peer mediation. With Academi Heddwch Cymru, facilitating peace conferences and linking in with peace institutes across the world, we are working with people of all ages to understand peace, take action, and shape solutions.
Our Peacebuilding work harnesses the energies of people Wales-wide to contribute to peacebuilding in Wales and the world. Together, we strengthen Cymru’s tradition of peace-making at home and across the world.
Through our Peace Education team, we work with communities, schools, colleges, universities and adult learning.
Through Academi Heddwch, we focus on academic and policy research, engagement and partnerships.
Volunteering
Volunteering across Cymru and the world with Cymru Global is a chance to be part of something meaningful: connecting with people, learning new skills, and taking action for a fairer, more peaceful, and healthier world. Our programmes are shaped by the belief that everyone has something to give — and something to gain. From youth ambassadors to climate campaigns, heritage projects to global exchanges, we create safe, inclusive spaces for people of all backgrounds to contribute, grow and lead.
We don’t ask for experience, just curiosity, care and a willingness to learn. We aim to make sure that international exchange and volunteering work for everyone and is open and accessible to all. Fostering a sense of belonging, growth, and shared purpose among all who take part.
Climate and Nature
We’re proud to host Climate Cymru, an active movement of 370 organisations and thousands of individuals across the country. United by a shared mission to campaign for climate justice and a net zero, nature positive nation. Together with these like-minded businesses, innovators, community groups and educators, we’re working to drive collective action to address the climate and nature emergencies and build a better society.
Our strength lies in our diversity, combining scientific knowledge with grassroots wisdom to create meaningful change. Together, we’re building more than a movement, we’re putting Cymru at the heart of global change and taking action to shape a better future for communities here across the globe.
